Article on new strain of E. Coli
Started out in Germany and related European countries and has killed about 17 or 18 people. This new strain of E. coli is rare and different from the common food pathogen E. Coli O157:H7. It does more neuron and nerves damage. And so far most cases reported were young females, especially pregnant female. The sources of food products and the regions originated are still unknown but possibly from vegetables.
The new strain of E. coli found in raw cucumbers, tomatoes and salads.
Suggested by the scientists to deal with vegetables?
"Peel it, Cook it or Leave it." (probably pickled will work too, just make sure the pH is below 4.7)
Well, that is very unfortunate, I hope the spread will stop soon because really. Who likes cooked cucumbers?
