Foodie Talk... Heinz&Kraft and the silly kraftrecipes.com interface

It was a month ago since this news covered the to be merged Heinz and Kraft.
There are numerous jokes on ketchup + hot dog, and ketchup + mac and cheese. (fun)
I was thinking Heinz would bring back the colorful ketchup scheme and mix it with mac and cheese. We'll have brand new rainbow mac n cheese!!
Little did I know that Kraft actually makes green mac noodle and cheese already:
somehow, I just picture gummy warms all over the mac n cheese. Yum...

However, with anti-chemical in food processing movement. I'm sure Yellow 5 Lake, Blue 1 Lake wouldn't be too popular for health conscious parents. (yellow + blue = green). This is to be expected, Dear Kraft, if you haven't started thinking about the next mac n cheese.
Green Veggie mac n cheese. (after the merge with Heniz R&D of course. Who needs two R&D department on coloring tricks. Make sure to do those "full serving of veggie" claim!)
it actually looks pretty good.

After joking on the colorful ketchup mixing into the colorful Mac n Cheese, there are more serious business concerns like restructure the organizations, employees allocations and other stuff.
Beside the big talk, it's going to be interesting to see because Heinz was privately held and Kraft is a publicly traded. In addition, this was such a big move since Kraft split with Mondelez back in 2012.

Unfortunately, Kraft's first quarter report was not impressive enough it seems, and with the due on the raise of interest rate, this merge will lead to changes within both companies.
Probably something like what General Mills did back in 2014....a big layoff + reorganize inner structure to fit the ever-changing consumer preferences. (Heinz did that in 2013)

Here is what it leads back to our coloring joke....Ding!!Ding!!
To bring back consumers, Kraft announced that they'd change its coloring choice in Mac n Cheese from yellow 5 and 6 to paprika and turmeric. (Turmeric can contribute to sticky texture and slightly earth note if not careful though....why don't they just use annatto?) My point is proven! They'll shy away from synthetic coloring.
It sounds silly to ask, but did they really switch the annatto to synthetic colors and now change it back to natural spices? Why is there distrust of corporation you ask? Probably because all these silly things they do without telling us why.

Lastly,
Random Thought moment - 2015 web design
I hate Kraftrecipes.com....Not only is it very laggy, it is full of useless overly crowded information that makes it hard to navigate. In addition, it is impossible to simply look up the product of interest....NOT EVEN WITH THEIR SEARCH BAR
I hate it!!! I don't care of the numerous galleries on the product recipes, nor the youtbue ads. I just want to find the product information!!! No wonder Kraf's marketing money hasn't helped in sales. Sincerely wish the merge will help on the UX Design. At least Heinz.com gives the product info and lead you to the correct link fairly easily.....
While Tech webs love to do those endless scroll-down picture/video oversimplified pages, apparently majority of the food product websites still stuck in 2000 when massive list and overcrowded pages were still in trend. Why don't you put flying squirrels as mouse cursor?
Maybe that's what needed to be merged among tech and food. The synergy among drop-down list, image galleries and the properly allocated information!!! This article was supposedly about the merge but after 15-minute of struggle...... Agh, rage. >:-(
The products are listed at the bottom, and then when you click on it. You still cannot find its ingredients and nutrition info easily.

To end this, apparently the fun colorful ketchup is still on the market...Probably not for long. I wonder if Heinz would try to change this to "natural" coloring as well. Purple is tricky though....cheap like purple cabbage?...oh wait, pH sensitive..., well...maybe blue berry?, too expensive? Why don't we just keep it red then?
Oh, homemade ketchup is actually really good. You can taste the tomato if you like tomato that is.
Heinz colorful purple ketchup on fries. It reminds me of Play-Doh clay....
